Welcome to Bloom Master Australia

Hi, Welcome to my new revamped website. I hope you have fun moving from page to page and I know you will be amazed by the pictures and be excited to start planting up your baskets and planter boxes.
I plan to have a lot more interaction with you all via a quarterly newsletter and grower forum. Where you can simply log on to ask any gardening question. If I don't know the answer then I will find out for you.

To achieve the results I have is just so easy. All you need to do is follow the simple planting instructions and in weeks, you too will be able to have beautiful hanging baskets and planter boxes.

Bloom Master hanging baskets have more soil volume than typical hanging baskets. This allows the hanging basket to grow beyond maturity and live all season. Because these hanging baskets have more volume they stay moist longer. The side openings in Bloom Master hanging baskets allow for incredible design flexibility and provide more oxygen to the root system. It is not necessary to plant every opening. Because of the unique design, potting mix will not wash out of planted or unplanted openings.

Melissa King shares some great ideas for hanging baskets.

This season why not create a hanging ball of colour to decorate your patio and outdoor entertaining areas!

Step By Step Planting Guide

How to Create Visual Splendour with our Hanging Baskets and Planters

Seedling Suggestions

Shock wave Petunias, Spreading petunias,  Million Bells, Bacopa, Star Series Zinnias, Ivy Geraniums,  Trailing Lobelia, Verbena (Taipan), Nerembergia, Black Eyed Susan Vine, Nemesia, Sutera, Impatiens, Bagonias, Chrysanthemums, Coleus, Pansy, viola, herbs, tomatoes and many others…

Note: Don't use Colour Parade Petunias (they are best in the garden)
Try planting Strawberries and Tomatoes with some mixed vegetable varieties and/or herbs for a great patio garden using the 35.5cm (14") Basket or 51cm (20") Box Planter.

HINT:  Try mixing some herbs and flowers together to have colour and your herbs at your finger tips.
 Step 1
Select your seedlings (see above for seedling suggestions) and premium potting mix to proceed with planting.
I always recommend good quality potting mix.

NOTE: It is recommended you use gloves when handling potting mix.
For this demonstration we used a 28cm (11") hanging basket.
So you can appreciate the size of these hanging baskets we have placed an Australian 50 cent piece beside the basket.
 Step 2
Pre-moisten enough PREMIUM POTTING MIX, (not potting soil), to fill the container to within 4-6cm from the top. This allows for a good watering pool at the top of the basket or planter box.

Hint: Simply open your potting mix bag at the top and use a hose to moisten the bag.

NOTE: A 25 litre bag of potting mix will plant up approximately 5 x BM105 baskets.

 Step 3
Fill the basket with moist potting mix to the bottom of the bottom row of opening

Insert your desired plants root ball first into the openings laying the root balls on the potting mix with 1cm of stem inside the container. If you are using plants with a root ball larger than 4cm then gently push the foliage through the opening from the inside of the container.

 Step 4
Add more moist potting mix to the bottom of the second row of openings and repeat step 3, lightly patting down the potting mix and adding more if needed to reach the desired level. Repeat the process until all side openings are planted

HINT: To add an extra hit of nutrient, sprinkle a teaspoon of slow release fertiliser across the top of the potting mix at this stage.

All side openings should now be planted.

NOTE: If you are a wholesale grower or growing for retail, depending on habit of the stock you use, it is not necessary to plant every opening, the potting mix will not wash out of unplanted openings. Plant to your own price point.

Step 5

.

Add more moist potting mix to within 4 cm from the top of the container. Plants in the top should be no more than 5-6cm apart

Step 6

Now to insert the wire hanger, put one wire through the little holes on the rim of the basket. Making sure the hook is centre and even, simply bend the wire into the basket.

Hint: Because you have moistened your potting mix, you do not need to water your seedlings.

Now all you need to do is find a place to hang your basket and watch it grow.

REMEMBER: There are a lot of seedlings in each basket, so I recommend once they are growing strongly and flowers are appearing to feed them weekly with a liquid fertiliser which you will find in most hardware shops or retail nurseries.

HOW GOOD DO THESE LOOK?

10 inch basket planted with a mixture of Herbs.
Side holes, have mint, oregano, curly parsley, thyme
Top has more of the same, with italian parsley and chives.
